The Intent of the Wizard

Do you remember when we used to go on vacation, take around two dozen pictures and keep them in a shoe box?  Friends would come over and we would all sit around the open box and share the past adventure.  People would talk and have fun with the crazy stories.

Today with the new technology we go on vacation and take around 500 pictures and store them on a disk.  Sure we post them on a picture site to share for a month but who has time to sit and look at 500 prints; less yet more than once and where did the conversations go?  Pictures should be a trigger to share a tale and not an attempt to replace the human experience.  “Nice pictures” doesn’t equate to five days hiking at Yosemite.

How cool would it be to post one or two pictures with a little blog to bait those old friends?  “I saw your picture, did you go to Yosemite?” is a better opener for a conversation.  Not looking to create a professional picture gallery or any kind of art form.  I created “Eye of the Wizard” to post a few pictures of ours and a few of folks we know.  Ask me about them next time you see me and perhaps we can have a conversation.  I do miss the shoe boxes but that is progress.
